Rounds will be held as follows:- Narberth(3) Llantony(1) Mid Wales (1) Teifiside (2) Chester (1)or (2) Border (1) and Three Counties who joined the Union at the AGM (1)
There are changes to the Format and Classes. Each meeting will have two blocks (one and two) with the third block being age related. Nothing stopping Clubs having three blocks but only the first two races will be championship points earning blocks. Carter takes PRE 60 title
More championship classes were decided after round 9 hosted by the Teifiside Club, with Andy Carter taking the Pre 60 title while Dan Evans clinches his second title of the year in the Pre 74 up to 250cc class.
All eyes will now be on the remaining classes at the final and tenth round of the Championship at Llanthony on September 27th to see who will be champions of these classes.
The Pre 65 up to 250 ts - 350 fs class is poised for a classic showdown. Will Tim Dallaway overtake Luke Sanders in the standings to snatch the title for the second year in succession, or will Sanders ride consistently to score the points needed to secure his first Welsh Championship title. The final podium place for the season's championship will be a dash between 'Flying' Phil Anslow who currently holds a five point advantage over Andrew Owen.
Tim Manton has a good points advantage over nearest rival Tim Dallaway in the Pre 68 unlimited class, and only needs a handful of points to be Champion, while in the Metisse class, Terry Challinor seem on course to add yet another title to his vast collection, with Dave Simpson, Dave Cooper and Dallaway vying for the second and third positions.
There will sure be a titanic duel for the Twinshock championship as Andy Mills and John Bennett are both tied on points going into the final round. Let battle commence!
Evans takes championship gold in Pre 74 over 250 class.
Dan Evans riding for Team Owen Husqvarna is the 2009 Pre 74 over 250cc Classic Motocross Champion. Evans' first classic motocross title is fully deserved after dominating the class aboard the Husqvarna 400cc machine.
With two rounds remaining no other championship class titles have yet to be decided. The racing is sure going to be intense as the riders aim for championship victories.
Tim Manton a well known Classic Motocross ace - and current leader of the Welsh Classic Motocross Championship Pre 68 unlimited class - has had his four bikes stolen from his workshop in Coleshill, near Birmingham. Click for details
